Boys soccer played at Gulf Shores and won 2-0. Gulf Shores coming off a good tournament and a 3-0 record, came out playing very hard and inspired to keep that record unblemished. After settling in Foley boys took control of the game and manages to get off multiple shots before late in the first half when Diego Vazquez crossed a ball that found Edwin Aparicio’s head who sent it to the feet of Efrain Diasdado for the score and 1-0 lead going into half. Coming out if half Gulf Shores came out strong again hoping to tie the game but once again Foley found themselves with opportunities to score only to come up short. Finally with 15 minutes left to play Zach Burgeoius found the ball and broke out on a run and caught the keeper out of goal to put in the second goal. Tonight’s defense led by Forrest Taylor at goal keeper with Ryan McDuffie, Edlen Meza, Jason Lopez and some help from Ever Diaz and Javier Reyes found many ways to keep Gulf Shores from capitalizing on several shot opportunities for the shutout win.
